“When Hathach told Mordecai what Esther had said, Mordecai sent her this message: “Don’t think that just because you live in the king’s house you’re the one Jew who will get out of this alive. If you persist in staying silent at a time like this, help and deliverance will arrive for the Jews from someplace else; but you and your family will be wiped out. Who knows? Maybe you were made queen for just such a time as this.” Esther 4:12-14 MSG
What had Esther said? Mordecai, Esther’s uncle had asked Esther to intercede to the king for the Jews because of the edict that Haman had caused, the extermination of the Jews. Esther had replied, “it is well known by all who serve the king that no one may go before him unless summoned under pain of death, unless the king extended his golden sceptre”.
Esther had just reasons to be concerned, yet, all of the lives of her people were at stake. However, she did eventually comply and went before the king and was well received. In fact she was instrumental in not only saving them but seeing Haman and his household hanged.
What task have we been given for the salvation of our families? Our towns, cities, our countries? Right now, in Australia, the workers of iniquity are pushing evil laws that destroy babies, and children that survive abortion. doctrines of demons are infiltrating schools and libraries. Our children’s lives are in danger. We have a role, we can vote against people who support these wicked lies, we can enter politics, we can sign petitions, join godly organisations such as ACL (Australian Christian Lobby). Most of all we can pray, pray fervently! Amen!
