“But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed.”Isaiah 53:5 NLT
Today I listened to Jeff Vines tell the story of Good Friday, it was compelling and impacting. It made me more grateful for the sacrifice Jesus made for me.
Today also I attended our church’s Good Friday service at the lookout over Tamworth. I was involved in bussing people to the lookout from below. I noticed a very odd man lugging two heavy weights all the way up the hill and all the way down, perhaps it was his way of acknowledging Jesus’ sacrifice. I was delighted that he stayed for the service. This particular hill is a source of exercise for the majority of those living just under the hill. It rained on and off and yet around two hundred stayed for the service. When it finished it poured.
Now the sun is shining and the land is grateful and at rest. Praise God for sending Jesus and praise Him for enduring the cross for us. Amen!
