Pentecost Sunday

“After this prayer, the meeting place shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Then they preached the word of God with boldness.”
‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭4‬:‭31‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Today is Pentecost Sunday! It celebrates the day the Holy Spirit was poured out on the disciples as they waited and prayed in the upper room.

Yesterday I attended a medical seminar about the right of parents seeking Mitochondrial donation to be covered by Australian Medicare. I had prayed for her Lord for His guidance, and had not received it until around 1am this morning. Today I must make a stand.

Today is the day we the jury must deliberate, and come to a conclusion about the rights mentioned above. Compassion for the sufferers drew me to the yes vote, however a lone voice yesterday stuck in my subconscious and opened the way for God to speak.

ART/IVF is used in the process. During the process four of the mother’s eggs are manipulated by having their nucleus removed and reinserted into donor eggs, these eggs are then impregnated by the fathers sperm and fertilised. The four new lives are grown for a few days, two are chosen and two discarded, or frozen and retained for up to 5-10 years. The two chosen are implanted into the mother’s womb.

The Lord revealed to me that all life is important to Him. I saw four of the people in the group  and another person deciding two should live and two should die. The two that die, if unrequited, never have the chance to grow to the maturity they now have. We are playing with the Hitler syndrome where only the perfect remain.

The decision is a difficult one. If I apply the Holy Spirit factor, all live and all are made whole. How can I not seek the Holy Spirit for a healing anointing? How can I turn away from the sick and retain compassion?
