““Submit to God, and you will have peace; then things will go well for you.”Job 22:21 NLT
This principle is a godly one. However, these words were spoken by one of Job’s supposed friends who is now finding fault with Job. Eliphaz had formerly honoured Job but now his old thinking, that you only suffer because of sin, has arisen.
There is a saying ‘Job’s comforters’, indicating that the person you refer to is no comforter at all and is now frustrated that Job continues to be unwell and righteousness has not delivered him. So, none of us want Job’s comforters.
Nonetheless submisssion to God can bring peace if we allow Him to handle our fears. Jesus continually told His disciples to fear not. We can recognise that fear is the problem and deal with it scripturally: “if God be for me who can be against me!” (Romans 8:31). A particular scripture will attract us to it and it is our sword against the attack of the enemy.
He alone is our peace! Amen!
