“But when I am afraid, I will put my trust in you.”
Psalms 56:3 NLT
I was not disappointed this morning. The hot air balloons were spectacular. Hundreds came to watch the inflation and then the departure of the Sky Whales. I have seen some beautiful balloons but these won the prize.
I met several people from church, the more adventurous ones. I find those willing to go on an adventure are usually those willing to face their fears and go for it.
I remember the first time I used a scooter(push variety) down my street, which has a reasonably high grade, I prayed and then went. I knew I was risking at lot as a woman in her 60s and with a history of breaking bones. However, my God sustained me and the ride was exceptional. What a thrill. I did it several times. Unfortunately once on the flat with a dog attached. He ran in front of my wheels, I went up into the air and landed heavily breaking two ribs. As I lay on the ground in agony I desired to get up and push through. The nurse in me said, “No!” I am left to wonder what would have happened if I did. I prayed fervently for not broken arm or scapula. I failed to mention ribs. My arm was bruised but not broken. The ribs that broke were under the scapula.
I think fear needs a beating every time. It presents itself often. Much like a stupid dog that won’t give up. My God is bigger! Amen
