Hearing

“So faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the message about Christ.”

Last Sunday we had a visiting preacher who told how he had stepped out to invite his aunt (an atheist) to read the scripture with him. She agreed and eventually came to faith.  I thought to myself, “I’ll ask Kathy”. I did and she agreed. Kathy is my old friend who I’ve known for 9 years, shared much about what Jesus has done in my life, prayed with her and for her, yet, she still remained aloof. Now she is willing to read the Bible with me. I pray she finds faith. We find faith as we hear the scriptures read aloud to us.

If we go to church expectantly we hear the word of God preached to us, faith meets the word of God and revelation, and healing comes. Therefore, our goal is to be changed into the image of Christ through hearing the word of God. Amen!
