Love is patient

“Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud”1 Corinthians‬ ‭13‬:‭4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Patience comes when we lay down our selfishness for peace, annoying imperfections, intrusions. Children can be intruders in our desire for peace, time to exercise, time to do what we want.

Yesterday, a girlfriend who works with displaced children, told me that parents dump their children on her work’s doorstep and say, “I’ve had enough, you can have them!” How can we throw children away like this? Yesterday, I also discovered that my nieces now live in a broken home.

Only the Holy Spirit can give us the patience we need. We can only have that help when Jesus is our Lord. We just do not have it in ourselves . Making Jesus Lord is the single best thing we can do for ourselves and others. Amen!
