A good worker

“Work hard so you can present yourself to God and receive his approval. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth.”2 Timothy‬ ‭2‬:‭15‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Today I travelled for 10hours from Brisbane to Kuala Lumpur. The cough that had developed a few days ago would not leave and became progressively worse. I am tired and I was stumbling around the airport not able to read the signs and with everyone donned with face masks I could not hear what they were saying. The enemy of my soul was out to make me want to go home: “look at you a sick, deaf old lady, what are you doing going to Nepal as you f you were a young woman.” I bucked myself up and looked for things to praise God for. I eventually found the taxi rank and left for the city and hours drive away. I liked my driver and we chatted some. He is as old as me with teeth missing and very little English. He has offered to collect me again tomorrow and take me back to the airport. I am grateful. When I coughed he gave me a Vicks-like ointment to rub under my nose.

I finally stumbled into my room and contacted everyone I could and asked them to pray for me. I discovered most of my luggage was wet. My suitcase came late and it looked dishevelled. It is raining here so obviously it was left in the rain. I have makeshift clothes line strung up in my room and am confident that I will dry the bulk of the things. I remember reading in the flight booklet advice to place a large plastic bag inside my suitcase. Now I know why. Next I went and found the restaurant. I ordered a wrap and received crisps and mushroom soup as well. I ate the soup and left the crisps and took the wrap back to my room for tomorrow.

When struggling it is good to hear from friends. I have a missionary girlfriend in Japan. She wrote me a message to say she was praying for me. I am grateful!

May Your kingdom come Lord, Your will be done! Amen!
