“A friend is always loyal, and a brother is born to help in time of need.”Proverbs 17:17 NLT
Recently I was trying to give translation work to a man in Nepal I have known for around 7 years. He stated that I was his friend. I was surprised as I had supported him financially for some time but when no longer able I had to cease. I had felt promoted by the Lord to offer him the work although it meant we also had to use a transcriber to write his translation into the Devanagari script. It was a process I was willing to wear as it would employ more people. Unfortunately my friend could not come to a meeting, and when I tried to set up a Zoom he failed to appear. It turns out his power was off, as is often the case in Nepal. I asked why he did not answer my sms and he said he had not data. There was also a growing concern in my friend that he would not be able to use the software we were to use as he is not technical. Timothy, my colleague, and I had to make a decision and we chose to use someone else.My friend said he would pray, and he did, I could sense it.
I started doing a study on a topic that the regional pastors needed help, counselling the flock. Perhaps my friend can do that.
When confronted with loving faithfulness, it is hard to walk away. Loving faithfulness is a godly attribute. It is one God shows us continually. Loving faithfulness draws. I am grateful to experince this in a human being. It is so rare today. Amen!
