Kingdom come

“May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.”Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭10‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Jesus was asked to teach His disciples to pray, this is part of the prayer we know as The Lord’s Prayer:
Our Father who are in heaven
Holy be Your Name
May Your kingdom come, Your will be done one earth as it is in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread;
Forgive us our sins as we forgive others their sins;
And lead us not into temptation.
For Yours is the Kingdom, the power and the glory for ever and ever. Amen!

This prayer represents: reverence, request, repentance, request, and ends in reverence again.

Our Heavenly Father needs to be revered by us. We tend to take Him for granted and treat Him as a provider only. Notice that reverence is the beginning and end of the prayer.  The middle is about us but starts with a request for provision, then forgiveness, dependent on us forgiving others and a request for protection from evil.

Why do we need to request protection from evil? It surrounds us and seeks our destruction. If it can’t get our attitudes, it will attack us through others.

For me the part: ‘May Your kingdom come, Your will be done’ has resonated in my heart for a very long time. I want this more than anything. I long to see Jesus rule and reign in the earth. Meantime I can allow Him rulership in my life. Amen!
