“And let the peace of the Messiah, to which you were also called in one body, control your hearts. Be thankful.”Colossians 3:15 HCSB
People in our lives will do and say things that offend our principles, but always we must look at our own hearts and ask why? Why am I offended? Rather than judge the actions of the one who offends ask why I am offended and deal with your own heart, then peace will reign.
We can be jealous of attention given elsewhere, we can cover this truth with an external truth, but in so doing miss an opportunity to reign in peace. We are called to love and peace. If this means avoiding certain places and people then so be it. However, what is the deeper truth that exists, what is the motive? If it is faithfulness to Christ then good, however, if it is a carnal reaction then deal with that reaction and find peace.
In Nepal at present Nepali friends are partaking in their Hindu festivals which have various rituals involved. I have chosen to not partake even though they are friends because I am a Christian. Yet, others may in all clear conscience partake. God is the judge and each of us must answer to Him, not me. Amen!
