Matthew gave us the genealogy of Jesus. He then refers to Isaiah 7:14 I referred tor hat scripture yeasterday. I love what Isaiah says: ‘a son is given to us’. At Christmas we celebrate the gift of Jesus, the Son of God, given to mankind for 33 years. This gift restored us to a right relationship with the Father. No more hopelessness. We now have an eternal hope. No longer is goodness dependent on us. We fail and fail again. Yet, Jesus is our goodness. He is more than enough.
We are blessed abundantly! We were given new life, eternal life. We will spend eternity with Him. He defeated sin and death. Sin has been defeated. The victory over sin we appropriate through faith in the finished work of the cross. Amen!
