This text can be deceptive to New Testament believers. We are no longer saved by works but by grace and trusting in the finished work of the cross. Our works are a result of knowing Him, not to earn salvation.
Today God blessed me, not because I am good, but rather because I am His, and trust Him to be my goodness. Yesterday He blessed me, in fact daily He blesses me with Himself.
Who knows how many generations of my family benefited because one person walked with God. I know my great grandmother did, beyond that I do not know, But God does. I trust Him to continue that faithfulness for many more generations. Amen!
