He said to his disciples, “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.”Matthew 9:37-38 NLT
Who is the Lord of the harvest? Jesus spoke the above words to his disciples. He did not say: pray to me, but pray to the Lord of the harvest. Could He be referring to God the Father? Possibly, probably! Jesus said He did not know when the end would come, only the Father knew. Then, probably this is a role He has chosen, as the key was the harvest was full.
This is interesting as we see different roles for different parts of the Godhead. Jesus’ main role was saviour. The Holy Spirit’s main role was to speak about Jesus to us; He convicts of sin, guides, and comforts.
Jesus also said the Father was the vine dresser, He prunes and removes dead wood. The harvest, then, is His main focus. How interesting! How wonderful! Amen!
