Justice

One day Jesus told his disciples a story to show that they should always pray and never give up. “There was a judge in a certain city,” he said, “who neither feared God nor cared about people. A widow of that city came to him repeatedly, saying, ‘Give me justice in this dispute with my enemy.’ The judge ignored her for a while, but finally he said to himself, ‘I don’t fear God or care about people, but this woman is driving me crazy. I’m going to see that she gets justice, because she is wearing me out with her constant requests!’Luke‬ ‭18‬:‭1‬-‭5‬ ‭NLT‬‬

We can see that Jesus was advocating persistence. This lady reminds me of children who want something, only justice was more important than a toy. We can persist in prayer for justice. Justice is a part of the Lord’s makeup. He loves justice.

May justice flow down like a mighty river and righteousness like an unfailing stream (Amos 5:24).

“Mankind, He (God) has told you what is good and what it is the Lord requires of you: to act justly, to love faithfulness, and to walk humbly with your God.”

‭‭Micah‬ ‭6‬:‭8‬ ‭HCSB‬‬

“Isn’t the fast I choose: To break the chains of wickedness, to untie the ropes of the yoke, to set the oppressed free, and to tear off every yoke? Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, to bring the poor and homeless into your house, to clothe the naked when you see him, and not to ignore your own flesh and blood? Then your light will appear like the dawn, and your recovery will come quickly. Your righteousness will go before you, and the Lord’s glory will be your rear guard. At that time, when you call, the Lord will answer; when you cry out, He will say, ‘Here I am.’ If you get rid of the yoke among you, the finger-pointing and malicious speaking, and if you offer yourself to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted one, then your light will shine in the darkness, and your night will be like noonday. The Lord will always lead you, satisfy you in a parched land, and strengthen your bones. You will be like a watered garden and like a spring whose waters never run dry. Some of you will rebuild the ancient ruins; you will restore the foundations laid long ago; you will be called the repairer of broken walls, the restorer of streets where people live.”Isaiah‬ ‭58‬:‭6‬-‭12‬ ‭HCSB‬‬

There are many more. However, these chosen show God’s heart towards justice. Amen!
