“Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see the Lord.”Hebrews 12:14 NLT
Perhaps working at living a holy life is more a life wholly focused on Jesus.
When cooking meals we like to add a special spice to give the meal a unique flavour, this then gives us pride in our composition. I’d like to suggest that Jesus is enough and does not need us to spice Him up. Unfortunately our earthly pride causes us to go one step too far to show how clever we are. Not necessary! Jesus is enough!
What is Jesus doing today? What is He saying? Die to self, take up your cross and follow Me? Sounds about right!
Jesus said: “He who finds his life loses it but he who loses his life for my sake will find it”(Matt 10:39).
