“Where is another God like you, who pardons the guilt of the remnant, overlooking the sins of his special people? You will not stay angry with your people forever, because you delight in showing unfailing love.”Micah 7:18 NLT
How amazing that Micah, an Old Testament prophet grasped the true nature of God. When I was raised a Catholic, I believed in God but did not know His grace, I only knew works and fear. When I became born again I was dipped into His ocean of grace and will stay there for as long as I live.
When Paul sought the Lord for the removal of the ‘thorn in the flesh’ God told him, “my grace is sufficient for you”. His grace is sufficient for all of us, we must live in His grace, not our own strength. When we live in our own strength we become prideful. This is what happened to Satan and that is why he fell. Pride is what he tempts us with, if he can have us living in our own strength he is very happy.
Jesus told His disciples, “abide in me and I will abide in you, apart from me you can do nothing!”(Jn 15:4)
Constantly I need to remind myself, ‘it is not about me, it is about He!’
Abide! Amen!
