“The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.”2 Peter 3:9 NLT
As we Christians know about the return of the Lord and the wickedness that is unfolding troubles us, we can long for Jesus’ return. However, our Heavenly Father sees the ones He is waiting for to come and will wait for them. Our selfishness plays no part in His decision, His love does.
We must remind ourselves that prayer is important. Our role is twofold: a prayerful relationship with our God and others. Prayer is opening hearts to the gospel in areas where it was previously closed. A willingness to go and share the gospel along with prayer is more beneficial than siting and moaning about the state of the world.
As we love the Lord we love others more. Seeking the Lord’s heart instead of our own agenda will compel us to go. Why not change the focus? Amen!
