Look away

“We look away from the natural realm and we focus our attention and expectation onto Jesus who birthed faith within us and who leads us forward into faith’s perfection. His example is this: Because his heart was focused on the joy of knowing that you would be his, he endured the agony of the cross and conquered its humiliation, and now sits exalted at the right hand of the throne of God!”Hebrews‬ ‭12‬:‭2‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Guarding our eye gate is an important task we have. We cannot afford to dwell on things that would corrupt our desire for the Lord. Lusts of the flesh are big ones. Temptations flood into the eye gate. We must have a foundation of truth that guides us or we are prey to all manner of ‘needs’ we do not have. We find ourselves thinking, ‘I deserve that’, I need to look good, feel good, have companionship etc. before long we have a house full of stuff we cannot possible use but feel good about having it. In other words our comfort comes from things.

Our God has a better way. What if He has a life of adventure planned instead of being bound to staying out caring for stuff? What if He has friends for us to meet on the other side of the world?

Why not let go and trust Him? Amen!
