“Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.”

Jesus had just told the disciples He was going to the Father but they would know the way to Him and Thomas had said, “but we don’t know where you are going so how can we know the way there!” Jesus replied that not only was He the Way, He was also the truth and the life. In other words He was God. Some still did not understand. Phillip said, “Lord show us the Father and we will be satisfied.” Jesus then said, “Have I been with you all this time, Philip, and yet you still don’t know who I am? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father! So why are you asking me to show him to you? Don’t you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words I speak are not my own, but my Father who lives in me does his work through me. Just believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me. Or at least believe because of the work you have seen me do.”

We know even after the resurrection some still did not get it until their minds were opened to understand what the scriptures prophesied about Jesus. (Luke 24:45)
For us Jesus is the door, the centre of all truth and the source of life. He is everything and nothing exists without Him. All scripture points to Him, there is no other way, none! We cannot diminish Him, add to Him, or delete Him. Jesus is the truth. If our truth does not contain Him then we believe lies and are being led astray.
