The Lord is faithful, we vacillate. Our love is dependent on how you make us feel. Godly love knows we are sinners but in compassion loves us anyway.
Yesterday a young 16 year old boy walked into a church in Aydney Australia, and stabbed the minister almost to death. The congregants jumped up to help the minister. Why did the young man attempt murder? Because he could, because hate filled his life and his mind was probably being controlled by darkness.
To live in mercy is what God does. Jesus prayed, whilst on the cross, “Father forgive them for they know not what they do!”(Luke 23:34). As Christians such love is given to us and fill our hearts. The Holy Spirit has this love. When hurt we can turn to Him for His supply instead of hatred. A family in Western Sydney did this when three of their children were hit by a out of control driver. They shine like the sun and convict others of God’s grace and mercy.
