More blessed

“And I have been a constant example of how you can help those in need by working hard. You should remember the words of the Lord Jesus: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.”Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭20‬:‭35‬ ‭NLT‬‬

A heart of compassion wants to bless those in need. Last night I went to the grocery store to buy food for our dinner. On the way there were two men and a young boy selling fruit and vegetables. My heart went out to them. One man I had met earlier in the day further down the road. That man had been standing all day with his cart attempting to sell fruit. He was not a good salesman as he did not call out his wares, instead he looked with pleading eyes. The young boy sitting on the pavement is an enterprising young man and we have bought from him before. I offered him money and he refused, he wanted to sell his goods. I respected that. I did not need what he was selling as we had bought the same as his earlier in the day. However, I’m determined to return each night and buy something.

In my time in Nepal I am self-supporting and paying for those who live with me and come to me for aid. I am grateful that my country supports me and allows me to support others. Paul was a tent maker. He supported himself through his trade. He did not covet the riches of others and neither do I. They are not my treasures. My God is my reward.

Be a blessing! Amen!
