Let there be light

“I could ask the darkness to hide me and the light around me to become night— but even in darkness I cannot hide from you. To you the night shines as bright as day. Darkness and light are the same to you.”Psalms‬ ‭139‬:‭11‬-‭12‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Jonah tried to run from God, but brought problems on the ship in which he hid. He repented, and told the sailors to throw him into the sea, they did, and the sea became calm. God organised a huge fish to swallow Jonah and he was in the dark for three days and nights whilst he fully repented. Perhaps Jonah did not read the psalm above.

Sin makes us believe we are hidden from the light, however, we are laid bare to Him. Sin has a voice and it encourages us into further darkness, yet God is there. He waits for us to turn to Him and be healed.

The darkness was over the face of the deep and God said, “let there be light!” He turns on the switch and brings illumination to our souls as we call out to Him in repentance. Amen!
