He emptied Himself

“Instead he emptied himself of his outward glory by reducing himself to the form of a lowly servant. He became human! He humbled himself and became vulnerable, choosing to be revealed as a man and was obedient. He was a perfect example, even in his death—a criminal’s death by crucifixion!” ‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2‬:‭7‬-‭8‬ ‭TPT‬‬ We do not grasp the immensity of what Jesus did when He chose to become a man child, the God of glory lay aside His power and chose to become a vulnerable, dependant human baby. Satan tried to kill Him through inciting jealousy in Herod. Herod ordered all baby boys two years of age and under in the Bethlehem area to be slaughtered. He failed, as the Lord warned Joseph to take Mary and Jesus to Egypt until told to return. Before Jesus began His ministry, Satan again tried to destroy Jesus through tempting His with power and glory, again he failed. Next Satan incited the religious leaders to hate Jesus for challenging them and their ways. He thought he’d won when Jesus...

Passion

“Jesus answered him, “ ‘Love the Lord your God with every passion of your heart, with all the energy of your being, and with every thought that is within you.’ This is the great and supreme commandment. And the second is like it in importance: ‘You must love your friend in the same way you love yourself.’” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭22‬:‭37‬-‭39‬ ‭TPT‬‬ We associate passion with lust, but it does not mean that, even though the Oxford dictionary describes it as ‘strong and barely controllable emotion’. Yet the Latin definition of passion relates to suffering. Thus Jesus was called the man of passion. This past day was a day of Thanksgiving in America, and for it to be successful the Christ-type of passion would be required where laying down of selfishness for the good of others existed. Unfortunately, we have many selfish ideals around celebration times such as Thanksgiving amd Christmas. We want what we want and are upset when we don’t receive. This is a childish attitude that exists in children and ...

Conceit

“The wealthy in their conceit presume to be wise, but a poor person with discernment can see right through them.” Proverbs‬ ‭28‬:‭11‬ ‭TPT‬‬ Serving in Nepal I have discovered many other foreigners serving here also. Unfortunately, because we are usually supported to be here, we are seen as a potential source of financial support for the Nepali people. It can create an ‘us’ and ‘them’ divide and resentment and complaining can result. Yes there are differences, differences we do not understand because we have never walked in the shoes of the poor. We may think we have, but we have not to the same degree. Conceit is a nasty haughty spirit of deception. Us westerners are used to living at a standard way beyond the poor here in Nepal. By Australian standards I am a poor pensioner, however, here in Nepal I am rich. Yesterday, I had another visit to hospital as I have had a long running cold and started to experience chest pain. I had a gamut of tests carried out and discovered I had a chest...

The canopy

“Above all, constantly echo God’s intense love for one another, for love will be a canopy over a multitude of sins.” 1 Peter‬ ‭4‬:‭8‬ ‭TPT‬‬ For an example of love I look at Jesus. He trained and taught His disciples, He confronted only that which needed confronting. He forgave their sins. When Peter denied Him He made a special effort to cleanse their relationship after His resurrection. He was never offended by their behaviour. Offense is our problem. Judas was offended and this caused him to hand Jesus over to the religious leaders. Offense causes us to do and say things that are wrong for others and us. Whereas, this scripture lifts forgiveness and love over the sins of others. In practicality how do we do that? It takes a lot of dying to self. It is not a matter of what we thought was agreed, but what the other party heard. When we force what we believe we crush others and cause an offense. Our God is wanting a different standard, not a carnal one! Amen!

Reconciliation

“And God has made all things new, and reconciled us to himself, and given us the ministry of reconciling others to God.” 2 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭18‬ ‭TPT‬‬ We may not have realised we needed reconciliation, but we did. No matter how hard we tried to live up to a good moral code the emptiness inside remained. God leads us to a place where we are ready to be reconciled.  We have all manner of relationships and some of them are in failure mode. Sometimes need need a friend or counsellor to bridge the gap and reconcile us to each other. This week Americans will celebrate Thanksgiving and many will struggle because the process of reconciliation has failed, has yet to occur or may never occur.  Our relationship with God is the main thing. As we reconcile to Him and establish Him in the place of prominence in our lives He goes to work on the broken pieces. We now have the ministry of reconciliation to others. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. No man or woman comes to God but thro...

Harmony

“May God, who gives this patience and encouragement, help you live in complete harmony with each other, as is fitting for followers of Christ Jesus.” Romans‬ ‭15‬:‭5‬ ‭NLT‬‬ Why does harmony not always exist? Selfishness has a big part to play in this. Selfish ambition causes us to reach for ourselves at the expense of others; to tear down the character of others to build up our own frail self-image. The fear of missing out, losing what I have, making myself important so as to gain support all weigh in why I may abuse others. However, what does Jesus say?  “So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”  John‬ ‭13‬:‭34‬-‭35‬ ‭NLT‬‬ Loving others like He loves me is laying down my selfish life for others. It does not give me room to self-promote or destroy others. Fear causes me to destroy others; love promotes others. Perfect love perf...

Tender mercy

“And so the Living Expression became a man and lived among us! We gazed upon his glory, the glory of the One and Only who came from the Father overflowing with tender mercy and truth!” John‬ ‭1‬:‭14‬ ‭TPT‬‬ The Passion Translation translates Logos as Living expression. In the footnotes it explains this: ‘Logos is more accurately understood as a self-revealing form of a message. Jesus Christ is the eternal message, the creative word, and the living expression of God made visible. He is the divine self-expression of all God is, reveals, contains and reveals in incarnate flesh.’ John wrote, ‘we gazed upon His glory’. John fully appreciated that He has Jesus, the Son of God as a friend. When he says he ‘gazed upon His glory’, he looked at God living among men and was totally awed by the experience. He saw the overflow of tender mercy and truth. To live with this would have blown away all he ever knew about God. He had only known the God of the Old Testament, the judge and dispenser of just...

Character assassination

“The character of God is a tower of strength, for the lovers of God delight to run into his heart and be exalted on high.” Proverbs‬ ‭18‬:‭10‬ ‭TPT‬‬ One of the biggest poisons poured out on the world today is character assassination. Right now, post the US elections Donald Trump is coping it in spades. It seems this is what the media loves to do, a real tool of the enemy.  If we find ourselves being used to sprout such vindictivism we need to repent and find God’s ways. Our God is just and true. He alone has the right to judge. Why attack people? Why not present truth instead and pray for our enemies. One of Australia’s media greats is now in prison accused of assaulting young men. He will face court. This man poured out acid on his enemies. He is an old man and it is a sad way to end his days.  Jesus gave us a better way, pray for your enemies. Allow God to deal out justice. As the scripture for today tells me He is my tower of strength, I can run to Him. Our enemy tries to ...

Him only

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.” ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭6‬:‭5‬ ‭NIV‬‬ This word was spoken by Moses to the children of Israel. When Jesus was asked what the greatest commandment,   “Jesus replied, “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.  This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: Love your neighbor as yourself.” Matthew‬ ‭22‬:‭37-39 NLT Although this came as a commandment first, we Christians are drawn to love Him, as He first loved us. No longer is it a ‘must do’ but a ‘want to do’. God freely gave us Jesus so that whomever believe in the work He did on the cross will have eternal life. This means gratitude! He saved us from eternal death and brought us into eternal life. Why would we want to be, do and go where we know He would not have us go? Today I am battling with a problem: I am been invited to attend a Hindu wedding in a Hindu temple. ...

Warrior prayers

“A warrior filled with wisdom ascends into the high place and releases breakthrough, bringing down the strongholds of the mighty.” Proverbs‬ ‭21‬:‭22‬ ‭TPT‬‬ A warrior in prayer does the exact same things. Prayer warriors do not just offer token prayers, they battle for the souls of men and women. Disasters are merely an invitation to fight in prayer, the rebuke the enemy and pour out God’s mercy and grace. A warrior does not see the enemy as all powerful, but evil and needing to be removed. A warrior without wisdom acts indiscriminately. However, a warrior who has the mind of his lord and saviour acts with wisdom. A good warrior becomes accustomed to his lord. David’s mighty men served him loyally and there was nothing they would not have done for him. They were guided by his wisdom.  When Jesus returns to rule the earth He will come as a warrior. Satan will be bound for 1,000 years. This is an aspect of Him we have not seen, yet it is an aspect seen in heaven. Jesus intercedes co...

A great light

“The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness, on them has light shone.” Isaiah‬ ‭9‬:‭2‬ ‭ESV‬‬ I am living in a land of darkness and have been praying for the light to come. This promise is good news. The original prophesy given by Isaiah was talking about the darkness brought about by the Assyrian army. The verb tenses used are the prophetic perfect; in other words although they were speaking of the future they were written as if they had already happened. This was fulfilled when Jesus went to live in Capernaum by the sea, in the region of Zebulun and Naphtali (Matt 4:16). Yet, there is still power in these verses. A promise of light in the darkness is ever present. What were the odds that Jesus would choose to live in Capernaum? Who would have guessed that Jesus was the answer all those years after Isaiah’s prophesy. God has unique and wonderful plans for the gospel to infiltrate dark places. Already He is filling my heart wit...

Love looks like …

““So this is my command: Love each other deeply, as much as I have loved you.” John‬ ‭15‬:‭12‬ ‭TPT‬‬ These are the words of Jesus. His love for them kept Him pure and focused on the cross. He lived sinlessly so that He would give a perfect sacrifice. However, His love confronted them over their fighting for position, lack of faith and carnal solutions. So how do we live as He lived? Laying down our lives for others, staying true to our calling and being a living example of love. Love covers a multitude of sins but is willing to confront. Jesus also prayed fervently for His disciples. We can and should do this. As we pray for others we can realise that the problems they face are often spiritual. Dark forces work against them as much as us. Interceding for them will enable them to become all God has called them to be. Amen!

peacekeepers

“God blesses those who work for peace, for they will be called the children of God.” Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭9‬ ‭NLT‬‬ The Passion Translation says it like this: “How joyful you are when you make peace! For then you will be recognized as a true child of God.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5‬:‭9‬ ‭TPT‬‬ The UN Peacekeeping mission is an international group of men and women. Their work includes: Protecting civilians from violent attacks, Supporting the delivery of humanitarian assistance, Maintaining security, and Supporting political solutions that lead to peace.  These peacekeepers stand between two combatant groups. These peacekeepers are armed, when necessary. As children of God we are peacemakers. We do not just stand between enemies we take the message of Jesus and bring new life. We stand against the powers of darkness, not people. We recognise the working of darkness in people and go to prayer to see them set free. We have been given authority over the enemy and must use it. Last week I had to do t...

My Refuge

“You are my refuge and my shield; your word is my source of hope.” Psalms‬ ‭119‬:‭114‬ ‭NLT‬‬ When there is no one to support me, You are there Lord. You have a place of safety for me, a bunker filled with abundance for every need, a place secure above my enemies. I eagerly look to your word for guidance. It speaks to me of your faithful love and companionship. It is reliable and true. When you showed me my fear I gave it to you and your gave me your peace. You are my trustworthy hope! Yesterday, I planned to take my mobile library to the children in the street. Upstairs there are two young boys. I met their father and told him what it was about. He said, in halting English, they would look at. He took the lot. I planned to buy a whole chicken and roast it on the rotisserie. I went down to the butcher shop and told the man I wanted a whole chicken. The size of the thing he brought out of the fridge caused my eyes to bulge. I had asked my Nepali flatmates how much should I pay and was t...

With me

“Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.” ‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭31‬:‭8‬ ‭NLT‬‬ To think these words spoken so many thousands of years ago are still relevant today, how good is our God. We must change our perspective from ‘this was spoken to those people’ to ‘this word speaks to my heart’. Yesterday I stopped at my bank here in Nepal and afterwards visited a gift shop I had seen many times as I walked to church on Sundays. What a beautiful shop. Three levels of gorgeous crafts, carpets and paintings. I had sought a suitable basket to store my knitting wools and needle is.  I found a unique basket that turned my creative crank. I also found a picture I will buy at another time. Hand made carpets called to me, but they can wait, a little while. As I write this I am aware that the Lord is blessing me. My funds stretch so well here. The Lord has given me a project to work towards at the end o...

Provision

“I am convinced that my God will fully satisfy every need you have, for I have seen the abundant riches of glory revealed to me through Jesus Christ!” ‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭19‬ ‭TPT‬‬ Paul had told the Philippians that they were the only ones who had supported him financially when he went out into the mission field. He was grateful for their gifts. Support in the field is so important. I cannot say I have any one person who supports me financially, but as the need arises God provides through even random strangers. However, I do have faithful souls praying for me, this I cherish greatly. As I look to the Lord, He provides. Another missionary friend of mine told me she had a need for travel funds and sought the Lord, He provided this week. I prefer to ask the Lord for provision as He is the master Gardner and I trust Him. I can trust My God to be the best provider and then I know He is involved in what I am about to do. I love His plans and purposes greater than mine. There is life in thos...

Blessing

Image
“Those who live to bless others will have blessings heaped upon them, and the one who pours out his life to pour out blessings will be saturated with favor.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭11‬:‭25‬ ‭TPT‬‬ Last night I led a Bible study at my flat and I have sought the Lord for a new move of His Holy Spirit. As the person designated to lead the study could not do the study I practically facilitated it all. I have experienced the wonderful presence of the Holy Spirit and wanted the same for those who attended. It was the best it has been for a while and all enjoyed our time together. A good friend was in attendance and he kept saying, “when this woman prays don’t get in her way or she will run over you!” I did not think I was like that but then he has been a recipient of my prayer, he would know. His comment embolded me to be braver and trust God for more answers in prayer. We were talking about prayer, the prayer of faith.  Before our meeting my friend went plant shopping with me and helped me fill m...

Hush be still!

“So they shook him awake, saying, “Teacher, don’t you even care that we are all about to die!” Fully awake, he rebuked the storm and shouted to the sea, “Hush! Be still!” All at once the wind stopped howling and the water became perfectly calm.” Mark‬ ‭4‬:‭39‬ ‭TPT‬‬ We can be overcome with impending disaster and not have faith to rise up and rebuke what must be rebuked. Jesus, after rebuking the storm:   “Then he turned to his disciples and said to them, “Why are you so afraid? Haven’t you learned to trust yet?” Mark‬ ‭4‬:‭40‬ ‭TPT‬‬ Other versions say, “why do you still have no faith?” The bigness of the problem, the storm, can so capture our imaginations that we fail to see what we have been given, faith. Faith rises up and rebukes the problem. Learning to walk in faith is a process that the disciples had to walk and so do we.  We can speak to the problem and bind its power and release the goodness and greatness of our God! He alone is good!!! Amen!!!

Carried

“Praise the Lord; praise God our savior! For each day he carries us in his arms. Interlude.  Psalms‬ ‭68‬:‭19‬ ‭NLT‬‬ This verse epitomises the truth of the gospel. As we place our faith and trust in the work Jesus did for us, we are carried. No matter what accusations come against us we are carried by God, in His arms. The Passion Translations says it like this: “What a glorious God! He gives us salvation over and over, then daily he carries our burdens! Pause in his presence” Psalms‬ ‭68‬:‭19‬ ‭TPT‬‬ I will often wake in the night and be troubled by my behaviour. The condemer knows how to bother me, with my own sins. Last night I decided to apply a remedy Bill Johnson uses, scripture. I recited the 23rd Psalm. Straight away the presence of God filled my room. I went back to sleep in peace and awoke differently, safe in the arms of my God. I know that in my flesh no good thing dwells, but I have been bought with a price, the blood of Jesus. I have been given a new heart and resolv...

Weakness

“That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” 2 Corinthians‬ ‭12‬:‭10‬ ‭NLT‬‬ I do not like being weak. I do not enjoy finding sin in my life,  realising I am not my own saviour, am flawed and without Christ I am lost. However, I would not be without Christ, I have to learn that when I feel as though I have failed Him and others, I have His grace and mercy to run to. The battle between self and the new me is constant. The new is winning more these days, praise God. The Lord told Paul He was best in Paul when Paul was weak: “Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away. Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.” 2 Corinthians‬ ‭12‬:‭8‬-‭9‬ ‭NLT‬‬ Paul was above referring to a ‘thorn in the flesh’. We are not told what i...

Surrender

“Laying your life down in tender surrender before the Lord will bring life, prosperity, and honor as your reward.” Proverbs‬ ‭22‬:‭4‬ ‭TPT‬‬ Tender surrender sounds like a loving response; a willing response; not a compelled response. Jesus said,  “Everyone who stumbles over that stone will be broken to pieces, and it will crush anyone it falls on.” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭20‬:‭18‬ ‭NLT‬‬ Jesus was referring to Himself who was the cornerstone. It is better to yield and be broken than to reject and be crushed. We are on this earth to walk in communion with Jesus and see His kingdom come, there is no other reason. Believing we are here to build our own kingdom is foolish at best and destructive at worst. This is a sharp rebuke to our pride. However, we must ask ‘where did this pride come from?’ Satan’s problem was he was filled with self-love and pride, then he fell. He would love company. When in conflict it is not about what we will show another person, rather what would Jesus have us do? How can...

Understanding others

“You are always and dearly loved by God! So robe yourself with virtues of God, since you have been divinely chosen to be holy. Be merciful as you endeavor to understand others, and be compassionate, showing kindness toward all. Be gentle and humble, unoffendable in your patience with others.” Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭12‬ ‭TPT‬‬ One of our greatest challenges is understanding others: why do they behave like they do; what drives them; why are they so different? I live with two Nepali ladies and you might say we are ‘chalk and cheese’. My constant battle is to understand these ladies and not judge them for their differences, as I am sure they share this problem from their perspective. Open my eyes Lord and help me grow in grace. Grace will allow me to see, accept and release.  Last night my housemates invited me to dine with them. They made fresh momos. I discovered the elder had had her birthday whilst I was away in Mugu, I therefore presented her with her gift, praying that she would accept...

Stay true

“And now, dear brothers and sisters, I’d like to give one final word of caution: Watch out for those who cause divisions and offenses among you. When they antagonize you by speaking of things that are contrary to the teachings that you’ve received, don’t be caught in their snare!” Romans‬ ‭16‬:‭17‬ ‭TPT‬‬ Satan uses people to cause division and offence. However, if we have determined in our hearts not to listen to gossip, it is hard to become snared. We become a tool in Satan’s hand when we ourselves are offended and rather than go to the person who offends us we talk about them. Much rather that we obey Jesus’ instructions and speak to the one who offends us. Pride is another cause for gossip. If we think more highly of ourselves then we boast and demean others. Pride is Satan’s tool. He fell because of pride and would have us fall also. Rather we should hear this scripture: “God has given me grace to speak a warning about pride. I would ask each of you to be emptied of self-promotion...

Building up

“We should help others do what is right and build them up in the Lord. Therefore, accept each other just as Christ has accepted you so that God will be given glory.” Romans‬ ‭15‬:‭2‬, ‭7‬ ‭NLT‬‬   Building each other up requires intentionality, eyes that observes and see, ears that hear. If we are too busy with our own agenda we fail to see and hear and miss opportunities to bless. Jesus saw and heard. We are His hands and feet now. Accepting others was something He did well. No one was made feel less than anyone else, even the worst sinners. The demoniac was set free for a purpose- to evangelise his area, the woman caught in adultery was forgiven and told to sin no more. However, she was not made to feel a less than, Jesus made a point of disclosing the sinfulness of all who accused her, she was not less than any of them. Our role is not to judge and condemn, our role is to honour and lift up. Our God is the judge, we are not. What is He saying and doing today? It is liberating to...

Maturity

“Now, those who are mature in their faith can easily be recognized, for they don’t live to please themselves but have learned to patiently embrace others in their immaturity. Our goal must be to empower others to do what is right and good for them, and to bring them into spiritual maturity.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭15‬:‭1‬-‭2‬ ‭TPT‬‬ This morning I am challenged to be mature in faith. Before I returned to Nepal from Australia I was compelled to buy health insurance by my children. I believed that I had in place a plan, which was a small savings fund to cover such emergencies, as medical costs in Nepal are much cheaper than in Australia. I was told, “we’ll help you if we can but right now we don’t have funds.” I paid for the insurance on my credit card and am paying it off. Nothing has come from family. Today I find two members of my family wanting help with the cost of going on a boot camp with Cfan. You can imagine my initial reaction. However, reading this passage compels me to go to the Lord for...

Bought

“No one lives to himself and no one dies to himself. While we live, we must live for our Master, and in death we must bring honor to him. So dead or alive we belong to our Master.” Romans‬ ‭14‬:‭7‬-‭8‬ ‭TPT‬‬ Even though we accept Jesus as saviour we may fail to realise we are no longer in charge. Paul explains it here: “Have you forgotten that your body is now the sacred temple of the Spirit of Holiness, who lives in you? You don’t belong to yourself any longer, for the gift of God, the Holy Spirit, lives inside your sanctuary. You were God’s expensive purchase, paid for with tears of blood, so by all means, then, use your body to bring glory to God!” 1 Corinthians‬ ‭6‬:‭19‬-‭20‬ ‭TPT‬‬ We no longer rule. Why would we want to? Is our way higher than His way? Our thoughts higher than His? No! The opposite is true: “For my thoughts about mercy are not like your thoughts, and my ways are different from yours. As high as the heavens are above the earth, so my ways and my thoughts are high...

Live in the light

“We must live honorably, surrounded by the light of this new day, not in the darkness of drunkenness and debauchery, not in promiscuity and sensuality, not being argumentative or jealous of others.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭13‬:‭13‬ ‭TPT‬‬ Right now Nepal is immersed in worshipping the god of wealth. They have drawn images outside of their homes welcoming in this spirit. We Christians are covered by the blood of the lamb. Some time back, when the locals celebrated the demon snake god I strung a red cloth over our window. It represents the blood of Jesus on our doorpost. We have not been asked what it represents, but I would be willing to testify. We have the Spirit of Christ in our hearts and the power of the Holy Spirit to live a new life for Him. We are blessed and highly favoured of the Lord. Yesterday we made our way back to Kathmandu. The flight was delayed and looked like it would not come but I prayed and it arrived. What a blessing to fly over this amazing land. When we arrived in Nepalgunj ...

A living sacrifice

“And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.” Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭1‬ ‭NLT‬‬ This chapter is full of how to live as a Christian. Paul exhorts his readers to live humbly, exercising God-given gifts for all, employing forgiveness and allowing God’s vengeance. His final comment is: don’t be overcome by evil but overcome evil with good deeds. When unwell we tend towards selfishness, but even here we must watch our steps. If our eyes are on Jesus, we will avoid the pits our enemy digs to trap us. Rejoice always! Amen!

God’s kindness

“Notice how God is both kind and severe. He is severe toward those who disobeyed, but kind to you if you continue to trust in his kindness. But if you stop trusting, you also will be cut off.” Romans‬ ‭11‬:‭22‬ ‭NLT‬‬ We appreciate kindness when we have suffered, but can become numb to it when we have plenty and life is good. Gratitude is a good attribute to practice no matter what our circumstances. I am away from Kathmandu on a trip to discover what God would have me do. we found a village that inspired us to conduct research there, stay a while, and get to know the people. Yesterday we returned from a trek to Rara Lake at an altitude of almost 10,000’. It was a struggle for me, as I am battling a cold, and the hotel we stayed at was very basic. The people were not kind and we had to trek over stones and steps to return to our jeep driver who was waiting for us. The whole exercise was an expensive exercise. The cough that had taken hold became a hardship and I needed to rest.  My...

His Way

“For Christ has already accomplished the purpose for which the law was given. As a result, all who believe in him are made right with God. If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭10‬:‭4‬, ‭9‬ ‭NLT‬‬ Yesterday we visited a Buddhist village. Buddhist’s believe in reincarnation until you reach Nirvanah. It is self-effort. No saviour lay down His life for them. I prefer my saviour! He gave His life for me, His Holy Spirit lives in me and He promises eternal life. When I die I am confident I will meet Him and be welcome. My friend Chelle and I plan to return to the village to live for three months next year. We will see what God can do. Amen!

More important

“I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms.” ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭1‬:‭19‬-‭20‬ ‭NLT‬‬ We must focus on what is true, clean and lovely not our circumstances which scream for attention.  Right now I cannot see very well as yesterday I sat on my glasses and broke them. Even the local optometrist could not correct them. Today we travel to Magri and the enemy has been out to disrupt me. I had an attacks from my sister over a trivial matter. My throat is sore and head stuffy, but I am going! The kingdom of God is more important than the kingdom of darkness. Amen!
