Anxiety and worry defeated
“Worry weighs a person down; an encouraging word cheers a person up.”Proverbs 12:25 NLT
Last night I read Jesus’ words in Matthew 6:
““So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.”
Matthew 6:31-33 NLT

I would add another to this list: where you will live. I have a friend who was a full-time inhabitant of Nepal recently was sent back to America for twelve months. She does not have a home there and feels a bit lost, wondering why she is there and where God is leading her/
Abraham could come into the picture here. God told him to leave his home and go into a land He would show him. Abraham spent his days living in a foreign land in tents. He did not own the land, he lived there by agreement with the locals. However, God told him that one day his people would inhabit the land in ownership.
Whilst Nepal belongs to the people of Nepal and we foreigners stay here at their behest, and we have not been promised future ownership, we have been promised a future home in heaven. We stay because we love Nepal and it’s people and will do what we can for them.
For some, like my friend, we have forsaken all ownership in our own lands to come to Nepal. It is God who draws us and God who leads us. We must totally trust our God for our provision and protection.
Over the last four days I have been subject to scrutinity as to why I want to stay in Nepal. My visa was up for renewal. I am again studying the language.
Fortunately, I have chosen to live with two Nepali ladies and they could vouch for me. Immigration wanted to know what I did each day. They wanted to be sure I was not breaking my agreement with the language school, that ‘I would do no voluntary work’.
This agreement makes it hard to be a blessing, but God knows how He wants to be a blessing.
Seeking Him is my only recourse! He is my reward and guide. Amen!
