Unity

“Now may God, the source of great endurance and comfort, grace you with unity among yourselves, which flows from your relationship with Jesus, the Anointed One.”Romans‬ ‭15‬:‭5‬ ‭TPT‬‬

Our relationship with Jesus causes us to love others with patience and endurance. In ourselves we are impatient and selfish, whereas, Jesus patiently taught His disciples how to live in unity.

At the last supper He took a bowl of water and washed their feet:
“After washing their feet, he put his robe on and returned to his place at the table. “Do you understand what I just did?” Jesus said. “You’ve called me your teacher and Lord, and you’re right, for that’s who I am. I speak to you timeless truth: a servant is not superior to his master, and an apostle is never greater than the one who sent him. So now put into practice what I have done for you, and you will experience a life of happiness enriched with untold blessings!”
‭‭John‬ ‭13‬:‭12-‭17‬ ‭TPT‬‬

The disciples were contifnually fighting as to who was the greatest. This example was to silence this competition. Do we vie for top dog position, recognition, authority? We all love to be noticed and accepted.

My eldest grandson was forever saying to me, “tell me Nan I am your favourite grandson!” I would reply, “Myer you are my favourite eldest grandson!” As much as I loved him I could not give him what he asked because it was asked with the wrong motive. He would become proud and lord it over his siblings and cousins.

Jesus never gave the disciples satisfaction in this regard. He wanted them to serve each other. Likewise He wants us to do the same.

Note the scripture from John  promises a blessing for us as we put into practice servanthood: you will expedite a life of happiness with untold blessings! I’d say this was a god reason to practice servanthood! Amen!

Keep Watch

Keep vigilant watch over your heart; that’s where life starts. Don’t talk out of both sides of your mouth; avoid careless banter, white lies, and gossip. Keep your eyes straight ahead; ignore all sideshow distractions. Watch your step, and the road will stretch out smooth before you. Look neither right nor left; leave evil in the dust. Proverbs 4:23‭-‬27 MSG https://bible.com/bible/97/pro.4.23-27.MSG Eyes straight! Jesus taught to keep our eyes on Him. When we drive down the road we must focus straight ahead. Myself, I tend to drive where I look and therefore cannot afford to look to the right or left. This is the same in life. There are times of extreme stress when we are surrounded by problems and drama. It is important, at such times, that we control our thoughts and focus on what is ahead. By focussing on Jesus we contain our thoughts in a zone that already is successful. This is also called walking by faith in the Son of God. We can trust Him! Amen!

Who Rules?

The princes of Judah are like those who move boundary markers, I will pout out my fury on them like water. Hosea 5:10 World leaders of church and state are now all highly visible. When they are not open to consultation or do not listen they make judgements that are judged as foolish by both God and man. In Australia we just celebrated Australia Day and at this time various people are honoured for their contribution to society. Our Prime Minister, Mr Abbott, without consultation, conferred a knighthood on the Queen of England's husband, Phillip. Almost to a person, Australians judged this to be foolish. Even supporters have now distanced themselves. Imagine what it is like when church leaders follow their own emotions or the emotions of their people and change what is acceptable to God.
