Angry Jesus
When Jesus saw her crying and the Jews who had come with her crying, He was angry in His spirit and deeply moved. "where have you put him?" He asked. "Lord" they told Him, "come and see." Jesus wept. John 11:33-35 Why was Jesus angry? Was He angry at sickness and the enemy who inflicted it? Was He angry because of the lack of faith that He could raise Lazarus from the dead? Was He angry at the injustice and wrongness of Lazarus's death? In verse 14 Jesus tells His disciples plainly that Lazarus was dead and that He was glad for their sakes that He was not there so that they might believe. At times I find myself upset deeply, especially where dear friends and family good through something dreadful, I can find myself angry at what has happened to them and want to deal a death blow to the inflicter of the calamity.
