The Temple

"It is written 'My house will be called a house of prayer' but you are making it a den of thieves."
Matthew 21:13

When we push the relationship down and out of the way it is amazing what compromises we come up with. Sin sneakily seduces our carnal minds so that we are doing wrong and justifying it.

Our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and yet we don things to it and in it that desecrate the temple.

Pollution comes from every angle. The eyes see and the heart lusts. The ear hears and the heart goes there. The mouth speaks things it should not, all because the heart is wrong.

How does this affect the Holy Spirit dwelling within? He becomes quieter and quieter and we miss out on beautiful fellowship.

The temple, in the beginning, was God in the midst of the people but could never satisfy. Rare was the person who recognised the importance and wanted a relationship. David was one such man, Moses was another and so was Joshua.

Just a few in so many. As a christian I have God within and can never take Him for granted but wake and go to Him for fellowship. He prepares a table for me. He delights to show me all His glory, if I want it.

What a feast!
