Storms

On that day, when evening had come, He said to them, "Let's cross over to the other side of the sea." So they left the crowd and took Him along since He was already in the boat. And other boats were with Him. A fierce windstorm arose, and waves were breaking over the boat, so that the boat was already being swamped. But He was in the stern, sleeping, on the cushion. So they woke Him up and said to Him, "Teacher! Don't you care that we are going to die?" He got up and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, "silence!" "Be Still ". The wind ceased and there was a great calm. Then He said to them, "Why are you fearful? Do you still have no faith?" Mark 4:35-41

Jesus put out an invitation to change location, He was in the boat asleep, at rest, and a storm came up.

Why was Jesus asleep, probably tired and at peace. Storms did not bother Him, He knew who He was and His authority.

The apostles were used to storms and would have a history with them. Their history dictated how they behaved, in fear.

Jesus rebuked them because He was now a new factor in their world but they did not fully appreciate what that factor could do in something that occurred regularly and they had memory of.

When we invite Christ into our hearts, He is in the boat with all His power and authority. He is the master and teacher.

Are you in the midst of the storm right now? What does He want you to do? Do what He did? Precisely!

If God be for you then WHO can be against you? WHO has authority against Christ? When Jesus left the earth he said, "ALL authority has been given to me and now I Give it to you, go in my name and make disciples."

If you are plugged into Him then He is in your boat. If you are plugged into ego He is not. But, if He is, stand up and speak to your world. Amen!
