Now on the first day of the week Mary Magdalene went to the tomb early, while it was still dark, and saw that the stone had been taken away from the tomb.
Then she ran and came to Simon Peter, and the other disciple, who Jesus loved, and said to them, "they have taken away the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have laid Him". John 20:1,2
Here are three people who Jesus loved, only one knew he was loved, John freely describes himself as 'the disciple who Jesus loved.'
The love Jesus gave was more than human love, it is called Agape love. This love is full of grace and power and enables those who are loved to flourish. John basked in this love. Mary and Peter received it but did not fully understand it.
Agape love empowers, lifts up, overcomes offense, injury, insult. John saw this love in action and appreciated it, flowed with it, stayed in it.
In John 14 and 15 Jesus taught she disciples about abiding in this love. This love is the calm amidst the storm, it is the rock on which to stand, the haven, the hiding place, the assurance that all things work out for good for those who love God and walk according to His purposes.
Yesterday the wire brush was out, nothing was moving, no phone calls answered, Telstra hung up on me (probably because I was annoyed) yet I came back to the rock, repented and confessed His greatness and then all things came to pass.
I cannot make things happen out of flesh but must walk in Him, abide in Him, He is God, I am not, amen!
In the above scripture it appeared that the worst had now come, not only had Jesus died but now the disciples had lost His body, but had they? Jesus is higher than what seems to be happening, far greater and goes before. Amen! A miracle is in progress, sit tight and watch it unfold.
