Run!

Run from sexual sin! No other sin so clearly affects the body as this one does. For sexual immorality is a sin against your own body. Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. As we read the Old Testament we see the behavior to God's temple. Various kings polluted the temple with altars to foreign gods and we're judged for their sin. As we read we may be filled with a horror of how disgusting these kings we're in behavior to their God.

The Old Testament paints a picture for us and we come to see what this pollution looks like.

Dabbling in sexual sin looks like this. We may not think it is the same, there are no sacrifices are there? Aren't there? If you are married and also being unfaithful you are sacrificing your wife and children on the altar of lust.

Deception is a curious entity. It makes us believe emotional satisfaction justifies the sin. Wrong! It is a liar.

As a temple of the Holy Spirit, we are called to purity. Resist the devil and he will flee. Amen!
