Special Friends

A man with many friends may be harmed, but there is a friend who stays closer than a brother. Proverbs 18:24 HCSB https://bible.com/bible/72/pro.18.24.HCSB

When we consider our friends, who they are, how many they are, we must also consider: who is that friend who sticks closer than a brother or sister?

I have two sisters who admirably saw me through recent surgery and came to my aid with caring for my mother, yet as they live far away, their time was limited.

I have a neighbour who has become a very good friend and she has been there for me, but also limited by her own circumstances. I have neighbours who are relatives and they have offered to be there if needed.

For all of these people, I am grateful but when all else fails I have One who sticks closer than any, the Holy Spirit. He never fails and is always present. He is not limited in the presence. He is God's guarantee of love and support. He is faithful and true and I can put my trust in Him.

Our God is not afflicted with human passions and pastimes, He is pure and Holy and completely reliable. In God I am safe. Amen! Praise Him!
