We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:5 NLT

So you have a good testimony about the goodness of God, His salvation through Christ alone, and not works? This is a start. 1 Peter 3:15,16 tells us to always be ready to give a good defence of the gospel. The best defence is a testimony on the work of Christ in your life.

Destroying proud obstacles is the ability to speak truth in gentleness and grace. If we have not submitted our lives to Christ then we will not walk in all the freedom He has for us. This is turn will cause us to stumble and struggle with the truth that sets people free. It is only blood bought truth that sets captives free.

I have dear ones who I regularly reach out to with the gospel. It is amazing the proud arguments they carry in their hearts and minds. It is only as they are brought low and are desperate will they listen. At these times they are more open to truth. This is when I must be sensitive and ready.
