What a victory

“For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.”2 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭21‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Jesus knew what it was like to face temptation, He was tempted. We see Satan try three times in Matthew 4:1-11. Each time Jesus handles the temptation with scripture and while starving after a 40 day fast. I am not able to handle temptation to eat after a few days fast, but then I am not without sin.

How did Jesus handle the experience of being made sin so that He could take our punishment? He had never sinned, He did not know what it was like personally. Suddenly He had all our sin upon His shoulders. How excruciating, how dispicable, how below Him! Is that why He was dead before the other two? The soldiers were surprised. I am grateful for His sake. Laden with our guilt and shame He descended to hell and whipped Satan and stole the keys of death and hell. I remember a Don Francisco song about this, He’s Alive. I believe Dolly Parton sang it as well. What a victory!

Today we can rejoice that Jesus saved us, He paid the price for our freedom. I am free from having to try to be good, I am free to walk in His victory. Praise Him! Amen!
