Reliable

Genesis 8:22 (AMP) While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease. After the flood the Lord made several promises, 1) He would not again destroy the earth with a flood 2) while the earth remained, the seasons, day and night would continue. 3) He would bless Noah and his family. We have comfort in knowing that God will keep His word and that the seasons would remain. I wonder how this matches with all those who proclaim that Global Warming is changing things? Today as I sit writing this the cold of winter has come to Wodonga Victoria, albeit a little late but it is here. The trees are losing their leaves and displaying the glory of death. I, personally know my God is a God who keeps His word and I can trust Him. To know the Lord, really know Him, de -mystifies Him and makes Him real. A real God, who keeps His word is warm, not cold. Jesus made the way for the Father to be the father by paying the price of judgeme...

Relationship

Matthew 3:17 (AMP) And behold, a voice from heaven said, This is My Son, My Beloved, in Whom I delight! Genesis 6:8 (AMP) But Noah found grace (favor) in the eyes of the Lord. It is good to be in the same relationship with the Father as the Son was. Previous to Noah there was Enoch who walked with God and was not. We could count up on two hands perhaps, maybe four, those who get a mention as having a special relationship with the Lord. What did they have? A desire to know God, a love for God. Jesus made a way for all to come near, to have sweet fellowship with the Lord. The father is waiting for those who seek Him first, who love Him. Judgement cannot hold us at bay.We are free to pursue the Lord with all our heart, soul and mind. As we pursue the Lord we find freedom, true liberating freedom, deep down in our souls. What can God do with a man or woman whose heart belongs to the Lord? Wow!

Trust

Genesis 3:7 (AMP) Then the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; Amazing! The very opposite to what the serpent had led them to believe. He told them that their eyes would be open and they would know the difference between good and evil. He indicated power, greatness that they did not have. When their eyes were open they saw their lack, their failure, their powerlessness. They saw their nakedness. When they knew both good and evil, God said they they were now like the Godhead, knowing good and evil, blessing and cursing, they were dangerous and could no longer eat from the tree of life and had to leave the garden. God had not planned for us to know 'good and evil' but presence, relationship and trust. Trust comes out of relationship yet knowledge blocks the simplicity of trust, especially if it is relied on instead of relationship. In our independence we prefer knowledge, being self-made appeals to us, it gives us a glory of our own. We wer...

It is Good!

Genesis 1:31 (AMP) And God saw everything that He had made, and behold, it was very good (suitable, pleasant) and He approved it completely. The first chapter of Genesis we see a loving God create, piece by piece, step by step. After each step He said 'It is good'. We can rush through the chapter and think 'yeah, yeah' but the creator took time with each step. Although he was God He measured each step and enjoyed each step and said 'it is good'. There is a lot of love here, a whole lot of thought. As we create we can take the time to think, appreciate and enjoy our creations. As we create relationships we can believe and know that we are going somewhere. Taking time is good, taking time to build each step is good and taking time to appreciate is very good. God sets us free, step by step. We should enjoy the journey so that we really appreciate the finished product. Thank you Lord for time and process. Amen!

Jewels

Malachi 3:17 (AMP) And they shall be Mine, says the Lord of hosts, in that day when I publicly recognize and openly declare them to be My jewels (My special possession, My peculiar treasure). I treasure friends as jewels, I prefer good friends to jewels. Good friends reflect the glory of God. What is the attribute of a jewel? 1) It belongs to someone. Belonging means faithfulness, relationship. My heart is yours and yours is mine, deal faithfully with me. At times when there are two friends involved in a dispute I look for truth in my relationship with these friends. Sometimes it is hard and I have to back off and allow the friends time to sort things out. Sometimes I lose, especially when I do act, either too late or too early. Sometimes, when I am feeling betrayed by one I will favour the other. Sometimes I am wrong and suffer the consequences and lose a jewel. 2) A jewel has a beauty all of it's own, it reflects glory, it has character. A jewel is transparent. 3) A jew...

Marriage

Malachi 2:15 (MSG) God, not you, made marriage. His Spirit inhabits even the smallest details of marriage. And what does he want from marriage? Children of God, that's what. So guard the spirit of marriage within you. Don't cheat on your spouse. I love it that my God is committed to marriage, that His Spirit inhabits even the smallest details of marriage. This passage is full of love. My God loves us, He gave us the beauty of marriage and He honours it and protects it. Our God wants us to create and pass on a love for Him through our children. Marriage is not for our own selfish desires but a place where He can intertwine Himself in our bonding. God sees His relationship with us as a marriage, a holy union, a covenant which He honours and desires that we honour. Lord may I honour You today. Amen!

Thirst

Revelation 22:17 (MSG) "Come!" say the Spirit and the Bride. Whoever hears, echo, "Come!" Is anyone thirsty? Come! All who will, come and drink, Drink freely of the Water of Life! Generally our taste buds, which have been trained, call the shots when we thirst. If we long for cool clean water then it shows our habits. If we long for creamy iced chocolates or coffee then this shows us what our focus has been, our belly. When we thirst for truth where do we go? Oprah or Dr Phil? or do we go to the One who made it all? To find truth I don't have to go to India, to Tibet or any other way out there place. Yet I do have to go to God and sometimes He plays hard to get. Why? His truth is precious and not thrown away lightly. I have to harness myself and learn to seek Him, I have to push in to Him for His truth. My Tibet is within. In the process of discovering truth I find a person, my lovely God. How beautiful He is. How great is our God! Amen!
