Jewels

Malachi 3:17 (AMP) And they shall be Mine, says the Lord of hosts, in that day when I publicly recognize and openly declare them to be My jewels (My special possession, My peculiar treasure).
I treasure friends as jewels, I prefer good friends to jewels. Good friends reflect the glory of God.
What is the attribute of a jewel?
1) It belongs to someone. Belonging means faithfulness, relationship. My heart is yours and yours is mine, deal faithfully with me.
At times when there are two friends involved in a dispute I look for truth in my relationship with these friends.
Sometimes it is hard and I have to back off and allow the friends time to sort things out.
Sometimes I lose, especially when I do act, either too late or too early.
Sometimes, when I am feeling betrayed by one I will favour the other. Sometimes I am wrong and suffer the consequences and lose a jewel.
2) A jewel has a beauty all of it's own, it reflects glory, it has character. A jewel is transparent.
3) A jewel is a treasure. To be a treasure I have to bring something special to the world. I have to have earned treasure status. I must have been refined, crafted, polished. I must have been in the hands of the master craftsman.

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
