no fear

Image
Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love. 1 John 4:18 NLT For the first time I have ventures to join an arm of family I have never met before. I am welcome. It is unusual for a stranger to be welcome so easily.  I am told it is because we are all family. Needless to say I am tredding carefully as I do not know the rules. We are all camping and sitting around two firepits chatting. This is how it is with God's family. We are all welcome. We learn to trust the welcome as we continue to participate in fellowship. Fellowship is important, it is how we come to know and understand each other. Enjoy good fellowship this weekend. Amen!

perfect love

Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love. 1 John 4:18 NLT John tells us here the litmus test for knowing we are loved by God, do we fear? If we do, then we are not there yet. God's love delivers us from all fear.  I have to acknowledge that I am not there yet. Although my God has faithfully provided for me financially for all these years, each month the thought comes: has it dried up now? Each month He provides, mind you sometimes He is late, in my understanding of late,  but never neglectful! Thank You Lord! His late cause me to forfeit spending, and probably assists with budgeting, for which I am grateful. He is good! Amen!

lasting peace

“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid. John 14:27NLT Notice Jesus gives us peace as a gift. The world does not give us such a gift. We might scrabble, and strive to create it ourselves,  but it does not last, and is governed by circumstances. However, the peace Jesus gives transcends circumstances. With Him we soar over them. Today I received another knock back on my research project. However, I am not perturbed as the subject has hooked my interest, and I will research it nonetheless. It appears I must study law next term, so be it. God knows why I must. I trust Him! The eventual outcome belongs to the Lord, I can trust Him for the best outcome! Amen!

Jesus is our peace

“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid. John 14:27 NLT Yesterday I discovered that my nephew's partner has gone away to sort herself out. This young woman is running from the only answer to her problems, Jesus. I have told her again and again He is the answer. Yet, she would rather stay in an emotional mess. This gorgeous girl has two small children who need her here, but also whole. I know what her future should look like, unfortunately at present she doesn't. The peace Jesus offers is real. I discovered it, I pray she does. My prayer is for the whole family, that Jesus becomes their answer. Amen!

Brother Andrew

Then I heard the Lord asking, “Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us?” I said, “Here I am. Send me.” Isaiah 6:8 NLT Today we celebrate the life of Brother Andrew from Open Doors. Andrew died at 95 years of age. He is reported as saying: "there is always an open door when you go to serve!" Brother Andrew smuggled bibles into closed countries for starving Christians who longed for God’s word. Today Open Doors continues to serve the persecuted Church and continues to succeed. Brother Andrew definitely put up his hand to serve. I imagine there is a glory time going on right now in heaven. Many he helped will be there to honour him. I am looking forward to meeting him in eternity.  What a man!

who should I send?

Then I heard the Lord asking, “Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us?” I said, “Here I am. Send me.” Isaiah 6:8 NLT It is interesting that this scripture comes up today. Yeterday I applied to be involved with Wycliff bible translators, it was also the day I received word that my application to do a research project on the local Kamilaroi people has been delayed, as there is no one to oversee me at my Uni. I wonder what the Lord is doing? I know full well I am willing, and that the Lord will use me. However, where and how,  He alone knows that part of the story. Isaiah was caught up in a vision of God. What a frightening experience for him. Yet when the request came from God for someone to go, he volunteered. This cost Isaiah his life. He died by being sawn in two. Yet he was willing to go. So many of God's people are persecuted for their faith. Yet, even now the enemy has a plan to persecute even those who do not go, by allowing wicked people into pow...

who can be against us?

What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? Romans 8:31 NLT Many of God's people are bullied, abused and martyred for their faith. However, the joy of knowing Jesus, and spending eternity with Him is their strength. Our enemy hates us and seeks to destroy us, however, he is unable to move us from our faith. Jesus is the prize and eternity is the time frame. Now is just a breath in time. Eternity is forever. Satan is locked out of our eternal home. He will spend it in a fiery pit unable to hurt us anymore, and knowing forever he made the wrong choice. Pray for your persecutors,  they are ruled by Satan. Pray that they too might find Christ! Amen!
