Prayer

Lord, teach us how to pray just as John taught his disciples. Luke 11:1

Wow! The disciples had preached and laid hands on the sick, cast out devils but did not know how to pray. They had watched Jesus go aside and spend all night, at times, with the Father in prayer. I am amazed it took so long. Did they not know that this was the source of His power, as He plugged into His father He went forth and did great things.
However, I have been saved 37 years and only now I am discovering the truth of Matthew 6:33 ‘seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness and then all these things taken together will be given to you.’ I have given up the struggle. As I press into Him, I can trust Him for timing and provision. I am enjoying pressing in and my eyes are off my needs and wants. He is now my focus. As I press in out comes something and I am always surprised because it is like a lucky dip. I am not telling Him what it must be, it is Him I am seeking. Sometimes it is a release of soul, sometimes financial blessing, sometimes souls. Always, always it is good and it is mine.

I have been awake since 3am and loving the presence of God, praying for souls. I am not fretting over lack of sleep, it will come, perhaps after the souls, but it will come.
Today we discuss forgiveness in DivorceCare, my prayer has been for salvation.
You know as I pray for salvation I know that it is coming to me as well. I must continually be saved, He is saving all of me. I cannot say to Him ‘just this far and no further’. He is a consuming fire and I love Him. The more I yield the better life gets. God is good. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
