Ready

Keep your loins girded and your lamp burning....... wait in readiness for the Lords return so that when He comes you can open the door immediately and He will come in and have you sit down and serve you. Luke 12:35-37 (Di's paraphrase)
Our enemy comes to rob, steal and plunder. When a promise comes to our hearts we have to be ready, looking in the right direction with a heart that says 'yes!yes!yes! and the Lord will come in and cause us to sit at the banquet He has prepared for us before our enemies.
When we hold a hope and begin to look at the desired provision we can be disappointed. In our attempt to read the spirit and the timing of provision we can become distracted yet if we keep our focus (focus!focus!focus!), if our heart is set and our gaze is toward Him who brings it all together then we will not be disappointed and when the provision comes the Lord causes us to sit.
Last night at DivorceCare we studied reconciliation and I witnessed those who the Lord is working on respond with open hearts. The two that I was concerned about have proven to have changed the most, yet I cannot now look at them and expect salvation to come, I must continue to look to the Lord because He is a master artist and I would rather watch Him work.
Be GOD Lord, Be great today! Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
