Giving

He who gives to the poor will not want, but he who hides his eyes from their want will have many a curse. Prov28:27
I have a good friend who needs to be lovingly given room to find his own opinion. He has yielded his opinions in many areas to the women in his world. I know the Lord wants him to know that his desires are precious to Him and I see my role as one of empowering this friend. When I fail, because of my own flesh, I am sad because I have robbed this dear man of even that little that he had.
I have another friend who reacts to all that happened in her world and I see that I must stand against the pull to be dragged into that mile and encourage my friend to see things as the Lord see them.
To all the people that the Lord gives me, as I go to His table, I have something to give them, for they are poor in certain areas of their lives. I see my own poverty and know where to fill my lack, in Him, for He is all sufficiency.
My God has given me a mandate to serve those He gives me, to love them in the way He wants me to love them, to release them and bless them.
Thank you Lord for giving me mine. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
