Perspective

The Lord decides what a person will do; no one understands what his life is all about. Prov 20:24
This is so true. I have spent years dreaming up ideas, they all looked good BUT God came along. Now I wait for an inkling of His dream, it is quickened to me, it is different from my own dreaming or inspiration, then I look at the dream giver and wait for Him to bring it to pass.
Have been doing some holiday reading Phillip Yancey's 'The Jesus I never knew'. He brings a great perspective into God's attitude. He talked about how Jesus was tempted by Satan to take the power way out, BUT God wanted the humbler way. He chose restraint and it hit me that is exactly what my God is creating in me. I am not to rise up and make things happen I am to press in and watch things happen, then He gets the glory.
This morning I woke burdened for souls and as I prayed a plan emerged and I 'knew' what I had to do, so I did it. The Lord is so concerned for those I have ministered to over the year that He wants me to give them a good New Year's eve party, one about hope, vision and restoration. One party is now organised. It will not be what they are used to.
Someone especially needs this and I wait to see what God has planned. Rather exciting. I love working for the lover of men's souls, He is an awesome boss.
Am enjoying the grandchildren, teaching them things from a different perspective and having lots of fun in the process. God did provide, as usual.

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
