Things that make for peace

Would that you had known personally, even at least in your day, the things that make for peace (freedom form all the distresses that are experienced as the result of sin and upon which your peace-your security, safety, prosperity, and happiness-depends)! Luke 19:42
To know personally takes more effort. There are things we generally know because someone else we relate to knows them well and because of that we think we know them until we are tested.
We need to know them today, in our day. Today is the day of salvation. Today is when we must rise up and take possession and defeat laziness. Today is the day of action.
To know the things that are made for peace takes insight. Listening, obedience, trust, faith. Stumbling along blindly is not smart. To get insight takes getting to know wisdom. Getting to know wisdom takes humility and a heart desire to really know. Wisdom is referred to as a woman in proverbs. Loving wisdom like a woman fills you with the desire to get to know her. You get to know her as you shut up and listen.
By the way my baby lost was a boy and was named Timothy. I am so blessed that Jesus lives. My eldest grandson Myer who is 3 knows Jesus has Timothy. Yes we are sad but because He lives we can face tomorrow. Amen!
Had the pleasure of bringing a hungry heart to church tonight and then create a conversation group after church over pizza so she could hear about Christ more. I love this, it is so much fun, new life is coming. Oh death where is thy sting?

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
