Rest
Ever had a situation where your body is screaming out for rest but you keep pushing it and it is unhappy?
For me there is a delicate balance between knowing when my body needs the discipline and knowing when it genuinely needs the rest. When it needs the rest and I push it becomes ill.
We have to know how to rest our spirits and sit and wait for refreshing. As the manna in the desert only lasted for a day so does each days supply of grace. I must fill up each day with the fresh, new life as the old is fraying at the edges, death is waiting to consume me.
My soul needs me to care for my spirit. As I sit and wait and am refreshed I hear the birdsong, I sense the freshness of morning, the stillness speaks to me.
My God is new every morning. It is like believing that yesterdays newspaper is sufficient for the week, each day something new happens.
Each days grace is different, each days grace is full of a new aspect of the giver, it costs our desire and time, otherwise is free.
Taste and see that the Lord is good. Amen!
