Benefits of Friendship

Do you believe I am able to do this? and they said to Him 'Yes Lord'. Matthew 9:28b
As we come to God we have to believe that He is, firstly before we believe that he can. If God is real when our faith is tested then He is really real to us.
We can grow up in church but never know Him for ourselves unless we have that meeting with him. The people asked if they believed Jesus could heal then were blind, totally. They had pursued Jesus calling out to Him. They followed Him to where He was staying calling out. They had met Him and believed.
When we meet Him for ourselves we are changed. He no longer is out there, a nice story. He becomes the one who loves us as a friend. When we meet someone and really like them then they enter our heart and we become open to them. When we really meet Jesus we find something precious that we will never discard.
when you really know someone and they are your friend then you know what they will do for you. You know their love for you will cause them to be there for you and give of who they are to you.
He is God as well as friend. We can expect Him to give us God presence, God provision, might, power and all that He is because He loves us and for no other reason. I don't have to pay a friend to love me and I don't have to pay Him, all I have to do is open my heart to all He is and has for me.
Try Him today. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
