Words

Jeremiah 15:19 (MSG) Use words truly and well. Don't stoop to cheap whining. Then, but only then, you'll speak for me. Let your words change them. Don't change your words to suit them.
Our perspective colours our speech. If it is God filtered and God trained it will speak the word of truth. If it is not trained it will spew forth garbage.
When calamity comes we are tested to see what is in our heart. If the word of God is hid in our heart so that 'I might not sin against You' as David penned in the Psalms then when we are tipped peace and truth will flow.
Being built steady on 'The Rock' who is Christ helps. If our foundations are Him and not us then we will stand.
When trouble comes to those around us we need to discover what the Lord is saying, pray for discernment and not be caught up emotionally in their plight.
I want to feel what the Lord feels and say what the Lord says. If I do it this way life will flow.
My God is the God of miracles, the God of answers, the God of truth. He alone is God, not me.
If I fear man I will say stuff that is just stuff for stuffing like hay in a scare crow. It doesn't bring life, it maintains death.
Be prayed up, let your spirit be bathed in His word. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
