Choose Life

Ezekiel 30:26 (MSG) 26b Then they'll realize that I am God."
Ezekiel 28:11 (MSG) 11 Because I said so.
Ezekiel is full of the judgement of God all because people form various nations became puffed up and proud in themselves and did not regard God as GOD.
We have often heard and said ourselves 'because I said so', more often to our children when they are testing us and being rebellious. Isn't it funny that God has the same problem with His kids.
As our children must learn that we are unmovable, we have to learn what God will and will not allow in His yard.
It is foolish to assume that we can re-write the rule book, to suit ourselves and yet we try.
God is God and not to be mocked. I am reading a book called 'Killing Fields, Living fields' by Don Cormack. It is about the horrors in Cambodia specifically between 1975 and 1979.
One of the Cambodian Christians believed that what happened was a result of the extreme hardness of heart of the Cambodian people.
The carnage was appalling and yet we, in the west, condoned what was happening and did not try to stop it.
I remember what I was doing in those years and I for one was oblivious to the suffering of thousands of people.
We have to realise that refusal to accept God as GOD in our own lives will destroy us. Grace is there for us, but we must reach out and accept it or we stand in our own filth, and there is definitely no merit there.
When God says 'death and life are before you, this day choose life that you might live' He has a point. I must choose life so that I might live. Amen!
