Steady
Daniel 4:37 (MSG) And that's why I'm singing—I, Nebuchadnezzar—singing and praising the King of Heaven: "Everything he does is right, and he does it the right way. He knows how to turn a proud person into a humble man or woman."
I love how God so loved that he sent. He sent Daniel to Babylon and caused him to be a man of great influence. God used Daniel to impact great leaders.
Daniel was steadfast in his integrity before the Lord. He paid a price for his integrity by being thrown in a den of lions and having all the other leaders despise him. Daniel prayed three times a day to the Lord.
Because Daniel honoured God, God honoured and protected him. Daniel was a steadfast, sane individual. He seemed to have a steady character.
In the book of revelation John delivers prophesy to the churches of the day, in the first few chapters.
The Lord found the following problems:
- Toleration of sin and those who err from the truth
- Lazy indolence from the rich
- Overzealous intolerance of sin and wrong teaching causing a hardening of attitude and thus a 'loss of first love'.
Yet, going back to Daniel we have a steady, consistent, loyal, wise, faithful man who is diligent in all he has to do. There are no frayed edges, he doesn't get into speculation yet God gives him divine revelation and the ability to interpret dreams.
Give me steady and faithful any day. Amen!
