Ah! God!
Numbers 6:24-26 (MSG) God bless you and keep you, God smile on you and gift you, God look you full in the face and make you prosper.
Ah! this speaks to me of a God encounter.
'God bless me and keep me'. At this moment I feel like a sailor all alone out on the ocean. I am alone but for my God. He keeps me. The God who created the universe bothers to keep me. He hides me in the palm of His hand, I am safe and secure with Him. He feeds me, He clothes me, He loves me, speaks to me, enjoys me.
'God smiles on me and gifts me.' My God has given me Himself first, He has given me the knowledge that I am made in His image and can do anything I choose to do. I can because He smiles on me, He loves me.
'God looks me full in the face', He is not ashamed of me, He delights in me, best of all 'He prospers me'.
I know what it is like to look on my grandchildren and want to bless them with all I have, as they work with me I give myself to them and together we delight in our meeting.
My love for them comes out in my wanting to spend time with them, teach them things they know not, sing to them, 'have patience, have patience, don't be in such a hurry, have patience, have patience you only start to worry, remember, remember that God is patient too, think of all the times that He's been patient with you.'
I delight in the things we make together. I love to climb the dirt hills, stomp in the puddles, climb the trees, it is all learning and sharing.
If I, a mere human can love like this, how much more does my God love me and delight in me.
If God be for me, who, I say who, I say again who can be against me. Amen!
