The Plan

Judges 20:28 (MSG) They asked, "Shall we again march into battle against the Benjaminites, our brothers? Or should we call it quits?" And God said, "Attack. Tomorrow I'll give you victory."

Twice the children of Israel had been beaten by the Benjaminites and they wept before the Lord.

Israel had gone out to the Benjaminites to revenge a sinful wrong done by loose men in their city, instead of turning over the wrongdoers the Benjaminites, puffed up in their pride, decided to fight.

In the end all the Benjaminites lost their lives and the city was burned to the ground.

Last night I was talking to a dear friend who was 'giving up' because of all that had come against her. I said to her 'how can giving up make things any better?'

She agreed that it would not make life better. Instead she needed a strategy as did Israel.

If our enemy uses all the strategies he has learned over the years why do we assume just wearing the name of Christian will suffice.

Yes we are bloodied in battle, yes we lose some but if we keep 'the main thing, the main thing', then our focus is clear.

I know I have authority to speak as I have been bloodied, bruised, I have lost my all except my God and as David learned at Ziglag I will strengthen myself in the Lord and take off after my enemies and destroy them.

Ziglag was not David's end, it was in fact his true beginning. David's end saw him give tonnes of gold to build the Lord's house, David had established peace throughout the land, he had walked with his God.

I will ever keep my Lord before me because He has a plan and hundreds of souls will come to know Him. At my end I will take a crowd with me. Amen!

Little Things Grow

The boy's mother said to Elisha, "as The Lord lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you. So he got up and followed her. 2 Kings 4:30 The Shunamite woman had travelled to Mt Carmel to find Elisha after the death of her son. Although Elisha had sent his servant Gehazi to the boy with his staff the woman had come to find Elisha and was not leaving without him. I like this lady's spirit. I am sure The Lord God Almighty also valued her heart. She had a heart for God and made room for Him in her world. Now, having lost her son she knew what to do: find Elisha and not let him go until he came to restore her son. What made the Shunamite woman believe that Elisha could raise her son? Was it the same faith that made her provide him a place to stay in her home? I believe it was God working in her life. I am grateful for her faith, I can read and be encouraged.
