The Trap!

Luke 21:34 (MSG) "But be on your guard. Don't let the sharp edge of your expectation get dulled by parties and drinking and shopping. Otherwise, that Day is going to take you by complete surprise, spring on you suddenly like a trap...
How easily we can be seduced. Just spend a week talking natural talk rather than faith talk and we find ourselves in the 'flesh'. Before we know it we are speaking against one another, puffing up ourselves and putting down others.
This can happen in the midst of what appears great evangelism. This past week I was reeling in the fish but talking naturally. Yesterday I found my tongue sharper than it should be, with judgement in my heart. Yuck! A bit of self-righteousness there.
My bible tells me a little leaven leavens the whole lump. A little bit of sin dirties the whole spirit.
Ah! but the joy of repentance, how cleansing it is. Praise God for grace!
I cannot live in the flesh but I must 'live in the zone', as Ps Phil Pringle says. In the zone is life and peace, power and effectiveness. There is no room for the elevation of self, self-pity right through to self-righteousness both stink.
I praise God for fellowship today, as I enter into worship and have an open heart to the word I am cleansed, made right, ready for the week ahead, strengthened.
Tonight we have a great young speaker, Chris Hope, he is an anointed young man and I pray God will use him mightily.
Build Your Kingdom Lord, Amen!
